NATIONAL SOCIETY REPORTS
Message from the esh scientific council to all esh members
and esh specialists
Dear Colleagues,
We would like to draw your attention to three very important issues.
First, the lists of ESH members and ESH specialists must be updated. E-mails and letters to a large portion of them are repeatedly returned as undeliverable. There is no doubt that the ESH Website can facilitate contact between ESH members and the Scientific Council. Therefore, we ask all ESH members and ESH specialists to register on the ESH Website (www.eshonline.org) by 30 MAY, 2008.
Second, many ESH members, unfortunately, have not paid their fee for several years. We urge these ESH members to resolve this issue as soon as possible (not later than 30 MAY, 2008). According to the ESH by-laws, members who have not paid their fees for two consecutive years can be removed from the membership list without any additional formalities. To check current status of their payments, ESH members should contact by e-mail Helen Horsfield [hhorsfield@HamptonMedical.com] at Hampton Medical Conferences, the company handling the payment of membership fees.
Third, the ESH Council is launching its re-accreditation process for ESH Specialists, which will be handled via the ESH Website. In addition to registration via the Website, the Scientific Council decided that every current ESH specialist should be a member of the society. Those who are not members are urged to send (a) a list of academic degrees, professional positions, and publications (short CV), and (b) a written endorsement by two members of the ESH to the ESH Secretary (Prof. Krzysztof Narkiewicz, knark@amg.gda.pl) as early as possible (no later than 30 MAY, 2008). Applications will receive final approval by the Society at its annual scientific meeting in Berlin in June 2008.
Kind regards.
Sincerely,
Prof. Krzysztof Narkiewicz
ESH Secretary
