Main scientific programme outline
The main Scientific programme is held during three days (June 16, 17 and 18, 2007)
and consists of State-of-the Art Lectures, How-to and Meet-The-Expert Sessions,
Topical Workshops, Breakfast Workshops, Working Group, Workshops, Debates and
Teaching Sessions (European Hypertension Specialist Programme).
PARALLEL ORAL SESSION
Will be selected among the abstracts submitted by participants. There will be
parallel oral sessions in the morning and afternoon of each day. Each presentation
will be given 15 minutes (10 for presentation and 5 for discussion).
POSTER PRESENTATION
Will be selected among the abstracts submitted by participants. There will be a
poster session during lunch-time of each day (16,17 and 18) from 12.30 to 15.30 hrs.
During that time posters should be attended by the Authors.
STATE-OF-THE-ART LECTURES
Will be given during some of the sessions with oral presentations and Plenary
Sessions.
PLENARY SESSIONS
Will be held in the afternoons of each day (June 16,17 and 18) and will include
Lectures, Debates and Awards.
TEACHING SESSIONS
Will take place every day from 12.45 to 14.15 hrs. The aim is to have experts
presenting and discussing aspects of immediate relevance to clinical practice.
BREAKFAST WORKSHOPS
Will take place on June 16, 17 and 18 between 7.15 and 8.15 hrs.
The aim is to complement the presentations of original research with a number
of prestructured events that addresses problems of methodological and clinical
interest in the fi eld of hypertension. A brief review of the problems by two experts
will be followed by a general discussion.
TOPICAL WORKSHOPS
Will take place on June 16, 17 and 18, from 11.00 to 12.30 hrs. and from 15.30 to
17.00 hrs.
ESH WORKING GROUPS’ WORKSHOPS
Will take place on June 17, from 9.00 to 12.30 hrs. at various time, during or
immediately before and after the Main Meeting. The Scientific Programme will be
under the responsibility of the Working Group.
HOW TO AND MEET-THE-EXPERT SESSIONS
Will take place every day. They are aimed at
discussing with an expert the methods to be used for the diagnosis and assessment
of effi cacy of treatment in Hypertension and related cardiovascular disease.
CLINICAL CASES
Will take place every day. They will consist of discussion of clinical
case with an expert.
