General Information for 2012 Awards
Applications are invited for a two year Research Fellowship for research and training in hypertension related fields. The Fellow appointed will hold a medical degree or higher degree in science and have research aptitude or clinical experience in hypertension. The award can be used to support a two year period of research at an institute, university or academic centre in Europe. While the supervisor supporting the Fellow should be a Member of the ESH, the Fellow may not. The award will be up to a maximum of 50,000 Euro per annum and it is intended to fund two Fellowships per year. Servier Research Grant in Hypertension 2013
The next deadline for applications for the Servier Research Grant in Hypertension 2013 is December 1, 2012
This newly instituted 30,000 Euro Servier Research Grant in Hypertension is awarded every 2 years for an European research proposal in the field of hypertension and related diseases with a focus on end organ damage, surrogate markers and biomarkers.
Eligibility is restricted to European Residents (MD or PhD). The proposed research must be carried out in an European country.
Applicants must submit the following documentation:

Curriculum vitae listing up to 10 representative publications in international peer-reviewed journals

A full supporting statement from the head of the department where the research will be undertaken

The proposal in English should be accompanied by a summary (one page) and a budget

Talal Zein Foundation
Talal Zein Research Grant in Hypertension and Cardiovascular Prevention
This newly instituted 10,000 Euro Talal Zein Research Grant in Hypertension and Cardiovascular Prevention is awarded every year for a Mediterranean and Middle East research proposal in the field of Hypertension and Cardiovascular Prevention.
Talal Zein Award
The Talal Zein Foundation has established a 3,000 Euro Talal Zein Award to be presented annually to a distinguished scientist originating from a Mediterranean country, in recognition of outstanding work related to the basic science, epidemiology, pathophysiology or therapy of hypertension and other cardiovascular diseases.
Talal Zein Travel Grants
1. The Talal Zein Foundation has established a 7,000 Euro annual travel grant to support young scientists from Arab countries who wish to attend the annual European Society of Hypertension meeting.
2. The Talal Zein Foundation has established a 3,000 Euro travel grant for young doctors from Lebanon and Syria to support their participation in the ESH winter and summer schools.
